How can I donate to WHISCA?

You can donate to WHISCA through one of the following ways:

How does my donation make a difference?

Your donation is 100% allocated to programs serving the progress and development of the Lugari community.

How do I get a tax receipt for my donation?

Donations above $ 25 are eligible for a tax receipt. We do all tax receipts within 2 weeks of year-end unless there is an urgent need. All donors, including monthly donors, will receive their receipts before the end of the year.

Volunteering

What kind of things will I do as an international volunteer?

Volunteers have the opportunity to assist in any of the programs taking place at the Centre. The programs include but are not limited to: education, health, sports, sustainable agriculture, leadership, entrepreneurship, employment, and skills development.

What Kind of things will I do as a remote volunteer?

As a remote volunteer, you will be working with our VP to implement digital marketing and social media strategies, writing blog posts and email newsletters, research and apply to grants, and help in fundraising initiatives and events.

How do I become a volunteer?

In order to volunteer with us you must:

  • Be able to commit to a minimum 4-week internship

  • Be 18 and older, and have completed a minimum of two years of post-secondary studies or have relevant experience in the field pertaining to the internship or volunteer position.

  • Be mature, adaptable, flexible, and interested in learning

  • Have a background and experience in the program that they will be working on

  • Be able to pay for all travel expenses and accommodation

  • Purchase health insurance that is valid in Kenya for the duration of the trip, and provide proof of purchase of insurance to WHISCA Board members at least two weeks prior to arrival in Kenya.

  • Be able to provide a criminal record check

How long can I volunteer for?

The minimum commitment for 2-weeks for international volunteering and 4-weeks for remote volunteering.
